Honolulu— It'll be a busy week for the University of Hawai'i swimming and diving team with multiple events taking place at Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Center beginning on Wednesday.
UH will host the annual Wally Nakamoto Diving invite, and the event will span over three days from Wednesday through Friday. Swimming will host a tri-match on the women's side by hosting Drury and Wisconsin on Thursday, followed by a head-to-head meet against Minnesota for Senior Day on Saturday.
Diving- Wally Nakamoto Diving Invite
The invite will mark the first competition for UH diving since the Art Adamson Invitational in late November. Sophomore
Max Burman was a premiere standout over a month ago, picking up a No. 2 finish in the one-meter dive. Burman will have the opportunity to build on his success from 2019 to 2020 with the comfort of his home facility at UH.
On the women's side, juniors
Ivy Davis and
Victoria Moretti will work on their growth under head coach
Mike Brown. Davis qualified last season for the NCAA championships in the platform dive, while Moretti is still working her way up to the same status. As the calendar has flipped into January, the push to make nationals is within reach of several divers.
Competition on Wednesday will begin at noon HT and will feature the men's one-meter, followed by the women's three-meter. The competition will flip on Thursday with the men's three-meter and the women's one-meter, and diving will begin at 11 am HT. Everything concludes on Friday with both the men's and women's platform dive.
