Former University of Hawai'i water polo standout Irene Gonzalez (water polo) and current Rainbow Wahine Alba Bonamusa Boix (beach water polo) both helped Spain capture silver at the 18th FINA World Championships in Gwangju, South Korea.
Gonzalez saw just under 11 minutes of action and attempted one shot on goal as Spain fell to three-time defending champs United States of America, 11-6.
With the runner-up finish, Spain's women's water polo team qualified for Tokyo 2020.
Bonamusa Boix competed for Spain in the inaugural beach water polo tournament at the FINA World Championships. Spain finished runner-up to USA, 14-12.
"I think it's a more physical game. It's meant to be fast. I don't know, it's hard to play this game," said Bonamusa-Boix.
Gonzalez recently graduated in the Spring 2019, while Bonamusa Boix just wrapped up her first year with the Rainbow Wahine.
