Rainbow Wahine in Action at Steve Scott Invitational

HONOLULU - The University of Hawaiʻi women's track and field team will head to Irvine, Calif. for the Steve Scott Invitational - the final competition before the upcoming Big West Championships. The Steve Scott Invitational is scheduled for Friday, April 27 - Saturday April 27 at UC Irvine's Anteater Stadium.

Last time out, Hawaiʻi competed in four different meets in the southern California area. Martina Latting set a personal record in the 100m in 12.01 at the Beach Invitational, while Calli-Ann Abbott set a PR in the 100m hurdles in 14.05. Also on the track, Olivia Hill (4:56.77), Hope Stewart (5:02.66) and Giovanna Casazza (5:08.86) all put up personal bests in the 1500m.

Ranking in the top five in the Big West this season in their respective events are Raion Black, Kristen LaCosse, Abbott and Alexis Brenzil. Black is fifth in the 100m (11.88), LaCosse checks in second in the 400m hurdles (59.56) and fourth in the 100m hurdles (14.04), while Abbott is fifth in the 100m hurdles (14.05), and Brenzil ranks third in the javelin (47.44m - 155'8").

Next up, Hawaiʻi will compete in the Big West Championships in Santa Barbara, Calif. beginning with the Multi-Events Championships May 3-4.
