HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's track and field team hosts the second of its three home meets on Saturday, March 9 with Sunrise Meet #2 at the Clarence T.C. Ching Complex.
In the all-comers meet, the Rainbow Wahine will compete against competitors of all ages and skill levels.
Competition gets underway at 8:00 a.m. with the pole vault, discus and high jump for field events and the 3000m on the track.
UH is coming off a 2019 indoor season that included three meets. The indoor campaign was capped by a solid performance at the MPSF Championships in Seattle. The 'Bows had a number of performances that ranked in the top 10 in program history for the indoor season including the school record in the 60m by
Martina Latting (7.67), as well as other top three finishes by
Raion Black in the 60m (2nd – 7.76) and the 200m (3rd – 25.37), and
Kristen LaCosse in the 400m (3rd – 57.64).
Sunrise Meet #2 begins the outdoor season for the Rainbow Wahine, who will travel to Sacramento, Calif. next weekend for the Hornet Invitational for the first NCAA competition for the outdoor season.
