The University of Hawaiʻi women's track and field team split their squad at the Stanford Invitational in Stanford, Calif. and the Mike Fanelli Track Classic in Hayward, Calif. Saturday marked day one for the Stanford Invitational and day two for the Mike Fanelli Track Classic.
Competing at the Stanford Invitational,
Calli-Ann Abbott ran a 100m hurdles time of 14.20. She was followed closely by
Kristen LaCosse in 14.23. LaCosse also turned in a strong performance in the 400m hurdles in 60.75 to earn fourth place.
In the 100m,
Raion Black posted a 12.28 finish, while
Martina Latting clocked in at 12.30.
Over at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic,
Meg Jackson won the shot put with a distance of 12.70m (41'8").
In the pole vault,
Krista Rados and
Megan Fereira both cleared the bar at 3.50m (11'5.75").
Sydney Montesi set a career best by getting over the bar at 3.35m (10'11.75").
On the track,
Aubrie Usui ran a 100m hurldes time of 15.11 for sixth overall, and
Natasha Currence posted a 59.07 finish in the 400m.
Four Rainbow Wahine broke five minutes in the 1500m led by
Jessica Cushing-murray's 4:49.69 finish.
Tristan Setzer put together a time of 4:54.04 while
Danielle Girard finished the 1500m in 4:56.40.
Olivia Hill ran a 4:58.28 on the day.
Both the Stanford Invitational and the Mike Fanelli Track Classic conclude on Saturday, March 30.
