Game Notes:

• With a week and a half left in the regular season, UH was positioned at the No. 5 spot of the Big West Conference standings. Following a regular season home finale win over Cal State Fullerton, and road wins over both UC Riverside and CSUN, each sitting in the No. 3 and No. 2 spots, UH jumped ahead, claiming the double bye, and a spot in the tournament semifinals.

• Except for No. 1 UC Davis (23-6, 15-1) UH was the only other team in the Big West not to be swept by a conference foe this season.

• The No. 2 seed is the highest seed the Bows have been able to claim since UH last won the Big West tournament in 2016. Last season UH was the No. 8 seed, and in 2016-17 the No. 6 seed.

• UH will faceoff with No.3 UC Riverside, after the Highlanders rolled past Long Beach State, 67-50 in the quarterfinals of the BWC tournament. The two squads split their season series with each team winning on the opposing teams home floor; the Bows took the most recent matchup on Mar. 2 by a score of 51-44. Freshman forward Myrrah Joseph led the team with 14 points and seven rebounds in the victory.

• Since joining the Big West in 2012, UH and UCR have yet to face each other in the conference tournament.

• The Highlanders have won the BWC tournament three times, the last being in 2010, the other two were back-to-back in 2006 and 2007.

• In the 18 years UH has been a part of the BWC (two stints), the Bows are 13-16 overall and have won the championship twice, 2016 and 1996.

REMEMBERING 2016
UH put an end to an 18-year drought of not making the NCAA tournament by winning the 2016 Big West Conference Tournament championship, 78-59 over No. 1 UC Davis. Only two players remain from the 2015-16 championship team, Leah and Lahni Salanoa, but neither saw action in the championship game.

CLEAR SOME ROOM IN THE TROPHY CASE
Four Bows received conference honors after the 2018-19 regular season. Senior guard Tia Kanoa received the highest esteem as she was named the All-Conference Second Team. Both senior Leah Salanoa and junior guard Courtney Middap were named honorable mentions, while freshman forward Myrrah Joseph was named to the All-Freshman squad.
