DALLAS – University of Hawaiʻi pitcher
Dylan Thomas was named Preseason Second Team All-America by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
The honor is the latest in the decorated career of the redshirt junior who returned to UH after being selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 38th round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft.
As a redshirt sophomore in 2018, Thomas secured First Team All-Big West honors in addition to being the first Rainbow Warrior to earn ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Second Team honors since 2011. He tied the Hawaiʻi single-season record with 14 saves, good for 14th nationally. The Castaic, Calif. native appeared in a team-high 26 games with a 1.85 ERA a year ago.
The Rainbow Warriors will host their Alumni Game on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 11 a.m. The season opener is set for Friday, Feb. 15 at 6:35 p.m. versus Portland at Les Murakami Stadium.
