SAN DIEGO, Calif.--The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (3-2, 2-0 Big West) fell at San Diego State (6-3), 5-2 on Monday afternoon at the Aztec Tennis Center. 

The Aztecs edged out the Rainbow Wahine for the doubles point. UH's No. 3 duo of Michelle Pits and Alzbeta Houbova defeated Agustina Rimoldi and Aesha Patel, 6-2. But SDSU's No. 1 Nnena Nadozie and Alicia Melosch knocked off Petra Melounova and Roxanne Resma by a break, 7-5. San Diego State then captured the doubles point via a tie-breaker win as Jenny Moinard and Mia Smith held off UH's Maayan Sela and Nikola Dolakova, 7-6 (3).

In singles, the Aztecs won four of the singles matches, clinching the match on the No. 4 court. Hawai'i's No. 1 Melounova won her second-straight match with a straight-set, 6-3, 6-1 win over SDSU's Jenny Moinard. UH's Sela was the only other Rainbow Wahine to notch a singles win. She outlasted Shakhnoza Khatamova in a tough three set match, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. 

Hawai'i closes out their Southern California road swing with a match at San Diego on Tuesday, Feb. 19.
