Game Notes-
Â
• UH is coming off its second win of the season against a Power 5 opponent, knocking off the University of Washington on the road on Dec. 8, 62-50, the other victory came against the University of Texas in Heineken Rainbow Wahine Showdown, 73-60.
Â
• A major contributor for the Rainbow Wahine in both wins came from junior forward
Amy Atwell. In the victories, Atwell scored a total of 43 points, pulled down 13 rebounds, and hit 11-of-19 three-point attempts.
Â
• The three-ball has been treating UH nicely over the last four games as UH has hit 35% from beyond the arc. Over the first 10 games, UH has shot the three 20 or more times in four games. The lowest number of three-pointers in a game this season was 11 in a lopsided loss against Oregon State.
Â
• Compared to other teams in the Big West Conference, during the non-conference schedule, UH ranks at No. 1 in scoring defense. The 'Bows have allowed just 60.60 points per game in 2019.
Â
• Along with the Bow's overall scoring defense, UH also ranks No. 1 amongst BWC teams in three-point field goal percentage defense, allowing opponents to shot only 26 percent.
Â
• Over the last several years, UH has either been successful or fallen on hard times when it comes to how they perform at the free-throw line. Overall the 'Bows have shot 73 percent from the charity stripe this season. Over the last four games, the 'Bows shot 87 percent from the line.
Â
• Hope International is an unknown opponent for two reasons, the first being the two programs have never played each other, and the second is UH rarely if ever plays NAIA institutions.
Â
• The Royals enter the game at 9-2 on the year. UH will be its first DI opponent this season, but they'll also travel to CSUN for a battle with the Matadors on Dec 31.
Â
TOUGH STRETCH? HOLD MY POWERADE!
Going into the season, fans and supporters alike circled the stretch from Nov 30 to Dec 8 as UH scheduled four consecutive games against Power Five schools. Many worried about the stretch would provide UH four losses, but the 'Bows disappointed the naysayers by going 2-2 over the four games and nearly knocked off No. 13 North Carolina State. In comparison with other Big West schools, they went a combined 2-12 against Power Five opponents.

WATCH HER NAE NAE
One of the more pleasant surprises this season for the Rainbow Wahine has been freshman point guard
Nae Nae Calhoun. With
Tia Kanoa graduating back in May, one of the most significant holes to fill was the point guard position, so far Calhoun has shined. Averaging 28 minutes, the Riverside, California native has accounted for 5.5 points, 3.1 assists, 3.1 rebounds, and only 2.3 turnovers a game. She also ranks as the team's second-best free throw shooter at 84 percent.
