HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's basketball squad will face Chaminade in an exhibition contest Wednesday, Oct. 30 at the Stan Sheriff Center. Tipoff is 7:00 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center and all seats are general admission.
 
After holding its annual Green & White Scrimmage on Oct. 12, UH fans will now get their first look at the 2019-20 Rainbow Warriors against outside competition. UH, which plays its 100th season this year, returns eight letterwinners, including three starters from last year. UH also welcomes five newcomers. Last week, the Big West preseason poll was released with UH picked fourth, the same spot where they finished the regular-season last year.  
 
The Silverswords, meanwhile, are coming off a 23-8 season, notching their most wins since their admittance to NCAA Division II in 1986-87. Chaminade, which advanced to last year's NCAA West Regionals, is led by first-team all-conference wing player Tyler Cartaino, who averaged 17.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game while shooting a league-best 59 percent. Cartaino was recently named Division II Preseason All-America honorable mention by the Street & Smith.
 
The last time the teams met, UH edged the Silverswords in overtime, 101-96, in an exhibition to start off the 2015-16 season.  The Rainbow Warriors open up the regular-season on Friday, Nov. 8 versus Florida A&M in the Outrigger Resorts Rainbow Classic.
