IRVINE, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team won all four sets against UC Irvine in a fall exhibition match Thursday at the Bren Center.
The teams agreed to play four sets regardless of the outcome and the Rainbow Warriors won all four, 25-15, 25-12, 25-20, 25-16. The match was the second of six for UH (2-0) in its fall exhibition tour.
Outside hitter
Colton Cowell was a perfect 10-for-10 in kills, hitting 1.000 in only two sets played. The Makawao, Maui native also had five digs and one ace. Opposite
Rado Parapunov added six kills and shared team-high honors with newcomer Giulherme Voss with five blocks. Voss also had five kills and a pair of aces.
The Warriors racked up 10 aces in the match led by middle blocker
Patrick Gasman and outside hitter
Filip Humler with three each. Setter
Jakob Thelle also had two aces and directed an offense that hit .313 for the match.
UH continues its tour with a single match against CSUN, Friday at 4:00 p.m. PT.
