Game Notes:
- UH last played Jan. 10-12 in the Hawaiian Airlines Rainbow Warrior Classic, defeating NJIT, Concordia-Irvine, and USC to capture its second consecutive RWC crown.
- Friday's match will be the first for UH since that win over USC, a span of 20 days. Last season, the Warriors also had a 20-day layover between contests (Feb. 3 vs. Thompson Rivers & Feb. 23 vs. UC Irvine).
- UH and Stanford did not play last season marking the first time since 1980 that the teams did not meet. The teams played 37 consecutive seasons until last year.
- UH leads the all-time series 41-38 and swept the season series in 2017 at the Stan Sheriff Center. UH has won the last five meetings in Honolulu dating back to 2013.
- UH has not dropped a set in three matches this season. Four of Stanford's seven wins this season have been in straight sets.
- UH head coach Charlie Wade is 7-10 vs. Stanford while Stanford head coach John Kosty is 14-9 against Hawai'i.
- Since joining the Big West Conference, UH is 7-3 against its former Mountain Pacific Sports Federation foes.
