Game Notes:
- UH enters this week's match-up coming off a 42-21 victory over Duquesne in a game in which the Warriors trailed 14-0. Hawai'i improved to 3-0 at Aloha Stadium this season.
- SJSU (0-3) was idle last week after a 35-23 loss at nationally ranked Oregon the week prior. Saturday's game is SJSU's Homecoming.
- UH is off to its best five-game start (4-1) since the 2007 season (5-0). Hawai'i has posted a 4-1 record or better eight previous times (1974, '81, '82, '88, '89, '92, '99, 2007) since turning Division I. Of those teams, only the 1981, '88, '89, '92, and 2007 teams were 5-1 or better.
- UH leads the all-time series 20-19-1 which includes a current two-game win streak. Hawai'i has won seven of the last eight meetings in San José since 1999. Of those eight games, five were decided by a touchdown or less.
- Saturday's match-up marks UH's sixth game through the end of September, the most in program history. UH is 7-7 under head coach Nick Rolovich during August/September compared to 6-10 in October/November.

- SJSU head coach Brent Brennan was a graduate assistant at UH in 1998 under head coach Fred vonAppen. Brennan's cousin is former UH record-setting quarterback Colt Brennan.
- SJSU is allowing an average of 391.7 passing yards per game, which ranks last nationally among 129 teams. Behind McDonald, UH ranks ninth nationally in passing, with an average of 353.4 yards per game.
