SAN FRANCISCO – The University of Hawai'i track and field team wrapped up competition on Saturday in the Bay Area with the second day of competition at both the Stanford Invitational and the San Francisco Distance Carnival.
In a pair of highlights at Stanford's Angell Field, a pair of Hawai'i throwers finished with top-tier finishes at the high-level competition.
Haleigh Sudbeck finished in seventh with a hammer throw mark of 172-10 (52.69m) while in the javelin
Karen Bulger hit a distance of 140-6 (42.83m).
Over at Chabot College Track for the SFSU meet, the 4x100m relay squad of
Charlie Poretti,
Raion Black,
Natasha Currence and
Britney Price earned gold with a time of 48.404 seconds, edging out Sacramento State by four-tenths of a second.
Calli-Ann Abbott finished second in the 100m hurdles, recording a time of 14.56 into a headwind. Price was fifth in the 100m dash at 12:54 and Black was seventh at 12.61. In the 400m hurdles,
Emily Stack finished seventh in 1:06.21.
Although the Rainbow Wahine are out of competition for 20 days, the next outing is series, as Hawai'i is set to compete in five meets in four days across the Los Angeles metro, April 18-21.
