SEATTLE – The University of Hawai'i track and field team wrapped up a challenging two days of competition on Saturday at the Dempsey Indoor on the final day of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Indoor Championships. The Rainbow Wahine logged one individual champion and finished 13th as a team.
Pacing the efforts for the Rainbow Wahine, sophomore
Lily Lowe rose one position from her finish a year ago and recorded her fifth consecutive high jump victory at the Dempsey Indoor facility, reaching 5-10.5 (1.79m) on her fifth jump for the gold. She finishes the Indoor season ranked 24th nationally.
Redshirt junior
Karen Bulger produced a career best toss in the shot put, reaching 43-09.0 (13.33m) to finish 18th in Seattle, while redshirt sophomore
Kahili Novikoff came in 20th toss of 41-05.25 (12.63m).
Although UH's top pole vault competitor did make height, sophomore
Megan Fereira nearly matched her career Indoor height, hitting 11-09.75 (3.60m) to finish in 20th.
In Friday's weight throw, sophomore
Haleigh Sudbeck finished 24th with a distance of 46-09.00 (14.25m). Novikoff was 28th with a career distance of 44-11.75 (13.71m).
As a team, the Rainbow Wahine finished 13th with 10 points, improving their score from each of the last four seasons.
