GAME NOTES

• UH enters the Duel in the Desert winners of its last two games with victories over Idaho (69-61) and Hawai'i Pacific (66-51). Junior forward Makenna Woodfolk led the way in both victories averaging 20.5 points and over seven rebounds per game.

• This will mark the second consecutive appearance for UH in the Duel in the Desert event. Last season the Rainbow Wahine fell short to #19 Texas A&M (103-59) and #10 Oregon (85-44).

• The all-time series between UH and UNLV belongs to the Rebels with a 32-15 record. The two squads use to meet periodically from 1980 to 1998 as members of the Western Athletic Conference before UNLV parted ways with the WAC. Since the conferences shifts, the two programs have only met five times since 1999. The last encounter belonged to UH from 2014 when the 'Bows upended the Rebels in Honolulu on Nov. 23, 79-70.

• UNLV has had a rough start to the season at 1-8 and will enter the Duel in the Desert with a five-game losing streak. The game with UH will be the third time this season UNLV has matched up with a Big West team. On Nov. 13 UC Irvine squeaked by with a 57-55 win at home, while the Rebels claimed their lone victory of the year at Cox Pavilion over UC Santa Barbara on Nov. 24, 69-51.

•  The Rebel division championship and consolations games for Friday, Nov. 21 will not be known until the UH and UNLV has concluded, as well as Utah and Florida on Thursday, Nov. 20.

• If UH and Florida were to match up on Dec. 21st, it would be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

• If UH and Utah were to meet up on Dec. 21st, it would be the sixth matchup all-time between the two squads. The Utes hold a 5-0 record over the 'Bows with the last matchup taking place back in 2012 in Honolulu. Utah narrowly beat UH, 62-61. The previous three games between the two have been decided by seven points or less and dates back to 1999.

• Florida enters the Duel in the Desert winning three of its last four games, with the loss coming on the heels of the Duel in the Desert on Dec. 16 against Ohio State, 46-41. The Gators hold wins over Texas Tech, Bethune-Cookman, and Florida A&M, all those wins coming in December. Before December, UF lost all six games in November.

• Utah comes in as the hottest team of the Rebel Division with a spotless 9-0 record and on the verge of cracking the NCAA Top-25. All nine of the Utes wins have been decided by double-digits.

Team Goals
Following the 'Bows 69-61 win over Idaho on Dec. 5, senior guard Tia Kanoa shared the team's goal in the post-game press conference of going undefeated in December after finishing November with a 1-7 record. Through two games, Kanoa and her fellow teammates have stuck to their goal with three games remaining. UH will have a climb to do so as two of three games will be on other team's home courts and one neutral site game. The two away games will be against UNLV and Nevada, with the neutral site game sandwiched between the two against either Florida or Utah.

Eliminate The Turnovers
Turnovers have been a glaring flaw for the 'Bows since the start of the season as UH as totaled 162 miscues through the first 10 games. Of the 162, only 76 have been recorded as steals, resulting in the coaching staff to shine a light on eliminating as many turnovers as possible. Against Idaho, UH only turned the ball over 10 times for a season-low, and accounted for 14 against HPU. Only one other time this season has UH recorded 14 or less, and that was on the road at San Diego State on Nov. 9 with 13.
