GAME NOTES
• UH started the season with back-to-back one-point losses. The first being at home against Pepperdine, followed by a visit to San Diego State. Add in its most recent loss, and the 'Bows are 0-3 for the first time since the 2008-09 season.
• UH will host the Bank of Hawai'i Classic beginning on Friday, this year's field includes Portland, Seattle, and Arizona. The Classic has been a staple of UH women's basketball since 1980.
• During the 38-year stretch, UH has accounted for a record of 56-48, including six. Championships. This year marks the fourth appearance four both Arizona and Seattle, with it being the third for Portland. None of the of three teams have won the classic championship, nor do they have winning records in their prior seasons of competing in it.
• Entering play, Portland is 3-2 all-time against UH, but the series is tied at 1-1 in Honolulu. The 'Bows do hold the all-time series lead over Seattle at 2-0, winning a game at home and at Seattle.
ENSHRINED WITH TRADITION
The Bank of Hawai'i Classic is rich with tradition as this mark the 39th consecutive season UH has hosted the Classic event. During the almost four decade run, 133 teams have competed in the event with UH holding a record of 56-48 overall. The Rainbow Wahine have been crowned champions of the event on six different occasions, including the last two seasons. Only four other programs have won the Classic championship more than once, Stanford (5), UCONN (3), North Carolina (2), Tennessee (2).
Beware of the Juniors
The 2018-19 roster features four seniors, but the junior class equals the same number with four and may have more of a direct impact this season. Forward
Makenna Woodfolk is the leading scorer at 12 points along with three rebounds a game.
Julissa Tago is third on the squad with eight points a game, while shooting 40 percent for the floor.
