Men's Tennis Continues Homestand Against No. 24 Texas Tech

HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team finishes its first week homestand this week as face off against No. 24 Texas Tech in a rematch from this past Sunday. The Rainbow Warriors will battle the Raiders on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 2:30 p.m. at the UH Tennis Complex.
 
In the first match, Texas Tech held off the 'Bows in the dual match, 5-2. In doubles, UH's Felix Albert and Fabian Woehrl were just edged out by 29th-ranked Jackson Cobb and Alex Sendegeya in a tie-breaker, 7-6 (5). Then in singles, both Aleksa Lazarevic and Tristan Martins both broke through with their first wins as Rainbow Warriors. Lazarevic held off Ilgiz Valiev in a three set match at No. 4, 7-6 (4), 3-6, 6-4. Martins won at No. 6 in straight sets over Cobb, 7-6 (5), 6-2. Hawai'i's No. 1, Blaz Seric came close to posting his first win of the season, but fell by a break in the deciding third set, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.
 
Wednesday's match against Texas Tech will be their last contest for the month of January as the 'Bows' next opponent will be Air Force on Feb. 17-18.
