HONOLULU--The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team continued action on Day 2 of their Weinman Foundation Invitational tournament on Friday at the UH Tennis Complex. The Rainbow Wahine captured three of their four doubles matches, but Michelle Pits was the lone player from Hawai'i to win her singles match. 

In doubles UH's duo of Marina Hruba and Pits held off CSUN's Elisaveta Nosenko and Arpe Bagumyan in a tight match,7-5. Hawai'i's Klara Pribylova and Nikola Dolakova defeated the Matdors' Skyla Alcon and Monika Van de Vondel, 6-2 while the Rainbow Wahine duo of Petra Melounova and Roxanne Resma knocked off Aneta Miksovska and Tiffany Mylonas, 6-3. 

In singles, Pits is the only Rainbow Wahine who has won both of her singles matches this season. On Friday ahe defeated CSUN's Alcon, 6-1, 6-4. Three of UH's other singles matches went to three sets but all three resulted in the 'Bows being edged out. UH's Pribylova bounced back to take the second set before falling in the third set tiebreaker to Washington State's Barbora Michalkova, 1-6, 7-6(4), 9-11. Hruba came storming back after dropping the first set by a break, but fell in a close third set tiebreaker to CSUN's Elisa Elhadj, 4-6, 6-0, 7-10, and Resma evened things by battling back to win the second set before WSU's Guzal Yusupova did not allow Resma to score a point in the tiebreaker, 6-3, 4-6, 10-0.

The third day of the Weinmane Foundation Invitational will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. Starting their play in the tournament will be California, Texas A&M and TCU.
