SAN FRANCISCO – The University of Hawai'i track and field squad wrapped up competition on Saturday in the Bay Area with the final day of both the Stanford Invitational and the SFSU Distance Carnival.

The Rainbow Wahine secured some of their best finishes on the weekend at San Francisco State's Cox Stadium, paced by Troutdale, Ore. senior
Courtney Andre's event victory in the 400m hurdles with a career-best time of 1:02.16; rising to fifth on the UH all-time performances list. She was just one of nine new personal bests achieved by the Rainbow Wahine in the meet.
Tatiana Desender also finished 12th in the race with a time of 1:01.01.

In addition, Reno, Nev. sophomore
Giovanna Casazza went 12:06.29 for a sixth-place finish in the two-mile run. Classmate
Piper McDonald came in at 12:17.13 for 10th place. Both were among the UH personal bests.

Down at Stanford's Cobb Track and Angell Field, Powell River, B.C. freshman
Calli-Ann Abbott made the most of her trip to the 100m hurdles, slicing .44 seconds off her preliminary time for new personal best of 14.25 and a fifth-place finish.

Hawai'i dominated the discus collegiate ranks, led by San Diego freshman
Michelle Altice, who finished second with a new personal best toss of 140-04 (42.78m). Her senior counterpart from Burlingame, Calif.,
Sabrina Mendoza came in fifth with mark of 135-08 (41.36m), beating out senior
Mary Kamau in sixth with a career-best 135-01 (41.18m).

Haleigh Sudbeck earned ninth in the collegiate hammer throw with a distance of 158-09 (48.39m) as well.

Upon returning to Honolulu, the Rainbow Wahine are out of action until April 12, when they commence a huge week of five meets in four days in the Los Angeles area.
