HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i track and field squad hits the road for the second time this outdoor season, heading to Northern California for a concurrent twinbill weekend at the SF State Distance Carnival and the Stanford Invitational, both running Friday, March 31 to Saturday, April 1.
 
Positioned right at the north edge of the San Francisco State campus in Lakeside, Cox Stadium will be the location for this weekend's Distance Carnival event, while the Stanford Invitational will take place at Cobb Track and Angell Field on the Old Palo Alto side of campus.
 
Carrying a 22-athlete complement during the school's Spring Break, the Rainbow Wahine will head out for San Francisco on Wednesday, looking to build on last week's home effort that saw UH take four event victories at the Rainbow Relays.
 
Featuring four UH throwers, the shot put will get things started on Friday at Stanford, beginning at 8:00 a.m. HT (11:00 a.m. PT), followed by UH appearances in the long jump, 100m hurdles, 400m hurdles and high jump.
 
Meanwhile, across town at SFSU things will start out with the meet's longest event, opening on the 10,000m, with additional UH appearances in the 1,500m, 3,000m steeplechase, 5,000m, pole vault and triple jump.
 
The hammer throw will get Saturday's events rolling at Stanford, preceding UH performances in the javelin, pole vault and discus. At SFSU on Saturday, the Rainbow Wahine will see performers in the 100m hurdles, 800m, 400m hurdles, 200m, two-mile and shot put.
