INDIANAPOLIS – Sophomore swimmer Metin Aydin and sophomore diver Johan Sandell continued competition at the NCAA Championships on Friday with Aydin setting another school record.
 
A day after setting a new school mark in the in the 200 individual medley, Aydin was back in the pool to compete in the 100 backstroke prelims on Friday. The German native finished 19^th to just miss the cut for the finals. But Aydin still put out a strong performance by clocking a time of 46:27, surpassing the school record he set less than a month ago (46:50) at the Bulldog Invitational.
 
Meanwhile, Sandell finished 41st in the 3-meter diving championship with a score of 285.90. Sandell, who averaged  47.65 over the course of his six dives, scored a high of 54.00 on his final dive, an inward 2 1/2 somersault pike.
 
UH, which sits in 31st place,  will wrap up competition Saturday with Aydin swimming his signature event, the 200 backstroke, and Sandell competing in the platform diving championship.
