RIVERSIDE, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (6-2, 3-0 Big West) will take their five-match win streak on the road this week to take on Big West foe, UC Riverside (1-3, 0-2 Big West) on Wednesday, March 1 and San Diego State (4-7, 0-0 Mountain West) on Saturday, March 4.
 
Last week, the Rainbow Wahine defeated BYU, 5-2 and Big West rival, Long Beach State, 4-3 to stay atop the Big West standings with a 3-0 record in conference. Rookie Petra Melounova led UH with a pair of wins in both singles and doubles with partner Roxanne Resma. Playing on the No. 2 singles court, Melounova edged out BYU's Savannah Ware-Avina, 7-5. 6-3, then against perennial Big West power, Long Beach State, she cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 win over Julie Gerard. In doubles with partner Resma, UH's top duo has won their last three matches—including a 6-1 win over BYU's Kate Cusick and Taylah Beckman and a 6-4 victory over LBSU's Maeva Razakasoa and Gerard. In singles, Melounova has an overall record of 8-2 and a dual match mark of 6-1.
 
Cindy Nguyen is tied with Melounova with a team-high eight singles wins overall. She had her six-match win streak snapped against Long Beach State when she fell to No. 1 Razakasoa. In dual matches, she has a 6-2 record. Nguyen has played with partner Klara Pribylova on the No. 2 court and together they have a 4-2 doubles record.
 
Hawai'i's No. 4 singles player, Roxanne Resma, has been on a roll as of late, winning her last four straight matches—three of which came in straight sets. Resma defeated BYU's Samantha Smith, 7-5, 6-3 and then Long Beach State's Lena Pacholski, 6-1, 6-3 last week. Overall, Resma is 6-5 overall and 5-3 in dual matches.
