Cross Country Pair Races at HPU Invitational

KAHUKU, O'ahu – A pair of University of Hawai'i cross country runners took on the course at Kahuku Golf Course on Saturday morning in the Hawai'i Pacific Invitational.

Coming in first for the Rainbow Wahine and 11th overall, sophomore Alison Bowman (Asan, Guam) ran a time of 21:58.4 in her third race, and second 5k, of the 2017 season.

Competing in her first career collegiate race, freshman Jeanalyn Wadsack-Myers (Pearl City, O'ahu) recorded a debut time of 25:26.3 to finish 17th overall.

With only two competing, the Rainbow Wahine were excluded from team scoring. Hawai'i returns to the course next week for their third mainland competition, traveling a full complement to Sunnyvale, Calif. for the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational. The SCU race is the final competition before the Oct. 28th Big West Championships in Riverside, Calif.
