SAN DIEGO, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team is heading to San Diego, Calif. to compete in the 2017 Southwest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division I Regional Championships. The tournament will beheld at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif. from October 19-24.
Seven Rainbow Wahine—including
Nikola Dolakova,
Alzbeta Houbova,
Taylor Lau,
Klara Pribylova,
Roxanne Resma, and
Saga Shermis—will be competing in the tournament, led by seniors
Hruba and Pribylova.
The singles and doubles champions from this regional event will earn an automatic berth to the 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships which will be held at Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, Calif. from November 1-5, 2017. The ITA Fall Championships are taking the place of the former ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships tourney.
Over 8,000 men's and women's student-athletes from NCAA Divisions I, II, III, NAIA, Junior and Community Colleges will be competing acros 85 ITA Regional Championships across the country.
