HONOLULU- The University of Hawai'i Rainbow sailing team placed four of its teams in the top six, including a first-place finish by the Rainbow Green squad in the Peter Wenner Rainbow Invite held this weekend at Keehi Lagoon.
Sixteen teams representing 12 schools competed in the regatta. A total of 15 races – eight in the A division and seven in the B division – were completed in blustery conditions on Saturday. Sailing was suspended for Sunday with the winds growing even stronger as the weekend wore on.
The Rainbow Green team, led by

Michael Magnussen in the A Division and
Michael Pacholski and
Cole Brauer in the B division, dominated the competition with a regatta-low 34 points, 27 ahead of the nearest finisher. The Green squad finished in the top three in 12 of 15 races, and won more than half (8) of the races.
Rainbow White finished in second (61 points) and Rainbow Black in third (63). The Rainbow Wahine squad, guided by
