Schedule of EventsHONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's track and field team wraps up its home schedule this week as host to the Rainbow Relays, which run from Friday, April 8 to Saturday, April 9 at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex. The Rainbow Wahine will take on the San Jose State Spartans in a dual meet format across the two-day home event, which will also serve as Senior Day for the UH team.
The meet will get started on Friday with the some of the longest running events, opening up with the 1,500m run at 6:15 p.m., followed by the 10,000m run.
The Rainbow Wahine and Spartans will return to action on Saturday morning, with the pole vault and triple jump events opening at 8:00 a.m., while the 5,000m run will lead off the running events. The meet will wrap after the 4x400m relay, which begins at 11:30 a.m. on the T.C. Ching track.
The meet will feature 20 events opening with the two Friday distance events.

Tiziana Ruiz Dominguez paces the Rainbow Wahine, leading the Big West in pole vault, while tying for 20th in the west region with a qualifying mark of 13-4.25 (4.07m), but previously recorded a 13-5.25 (4.10m) to set the UH mark at the Leah Bennett Invitational on March 12, which did not count toward conference and national standings. Teammate
Amber Kozaki currently sits at eighth in the conference standings.
A history of strength in the throwing events remains true for the Rainbow Wahine this season. The highest Big West ranking goes to 2015 NCAA and World University Games thrower, St.-Cesaire, Canada senior
Alex Porlier Langlois, who is third in the Big West discus rankings at 167-10.00 (51.17m), also holding the 12th spot in the hammer throw at 52.84m.
Also in the discus, Kapolei, O'ahu senior
Charlinda Ioane has made moves this season and is just inches behind Porlier Langlois, ranking fourth at 161-5.00 (49.21m), while also holding it down in the shot put at fourth, with a mark of 48-10.00 (14.88m). In the javelin, upstart Olympia, Wash. freshman
Karen Bulger, who is holding third in the Big West with a distance of 146-11.00 (44.78m), ahead of
Felicianna Vazquez in sixth with 145-9.00 (44.42m).
The distance runners are also making an impression in the league standings, as Perth, Australia senior
Louise Mulvey lists at fifth in the 800m at 2:12.32 and eighth in the 1,500m at 4:35.98. Meanwhile, Harbor City, Calif. junior
Montana Martinez is fifth in the 3,000m steeplechase, and eighth in the 5,000m. First-year junior
Alli Cross rankes 10th with a month to go before the Big West Championships.

Robyn Brown in in eighth in the BWC 400m hurdles heading into this weekend's home finale, recording a time of 1:02.31.
The Rainbow Relays started in 1924 and lasted for more than 50 years until UH dropped its men's track and field program in 1976. With the return of women's track and field in 2000, the Rainbow Relays was revived several years ago.
