Men’s Volleyball Overpowers CSUN In Four

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team hit for its highest percentage of the season in a four-set win over CSUN, Friday, in the first of two Mountain Pacific Sports Federation matches at the Matadome. Set scores were 25-18, 20-25, 25-22, 25-22.
 
The Rainbow Warriors (11-9, 6-9 MPSF) snapped a five-match losing streak hitting .472 in the victory. Pin hitters Sinisa Zarkovic (21 kills), Stijn van Tilburg (16), and Kupono Fey (14) combined for 51 of the team's 62 kills. Fey had no errors in 20 swings, hitting .700 while Zarkovic posted only one error in 38 swings, hitting .526.
 
As a team, the Warriors recorded 12.5 team blocks compared to only 2.0 for the Matadors (12-8, 5-8), who were led by Jakub Ciesla's 18 kills.
 
UH freshman setter Joe Worsley dished out 53 assists while middle blocker Hendrick Mol led the team with six blocks.  
 
The teams play again on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. PT.
