Match Notes

HONOLULU — For the second time in as many home series, the No. 7 University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team will host the nation's top-ranked team. This week Long Beach State arrives for a two-match Mountain Pacific Sports Federation series, Wednesday, Feb. 24 and Friday, Feb. 26 at the Stan Sheriff Center. First serve is 7:00 p.m., for both matches.
 
UH (10-5, 5-5 MPSF) went 1-3 on its recent road trip to Stanford and USC with its lone victory in five sets against the Trojans in the first of two matches. The Warriors have dropped four of their last five matches after starting the season 9-1 and are tied for sixth in the MPSF standings. This week's series begins a two-week homestand which also includes a pair of matches against No. 2 BYU, March 2 and 4.
 
The Beach (13-2, 10-2) have won their last seven matches and retained the No. 1 ranking for the third straight week. LBSU's two losses in conference play were against BYU in four sets and UCLA in five, the latter of the two the 49ers led two sets to none.
 
The teams last met in last year's MPSF Tournament quarterfinals in Honolulu, which the Warriors prevailed in straight sets. UH has won the last four matches in the series.

Tickets: Lower – Adult $14-16, Senior Citizen (ages 65+) $10, Student (4-HS) $5; Upper – Adult $14, Senior Citizen $10, Student $5; UH Manoa students receive admission with paid Athletic Fee for the 2016 Spring Semester.  Student ID will be scanned upon entry at Gate B. 

Promotions: Bud Light is the sponsor on Wednesday and will award a Bud Light Jambox Speaker and prize packs to the contestants in the "Volleyball Musical Chairs" promotional activity at intermission. Also, a Bud Light Jambox Speaker will be awarded to the winner of the "Lucky Seat Drawing." Fans can register to participate at the sports marketing table located at Gate A. Hawaii Pacific Health is the sponsor of Friday's "Retro Night" match and will distribute 750 rally towels and award fantastic prizes throughout the match. Fans are encouraged to visit the Hawaii Pacific Health table located at Gate A to receive a five-minute FREE health check. The men's volleyball team will be wearing custom retro jerseys on Friday and fans are encouraged to wear retro gear, which is available at the H-Zone store located a Gate B. Also, there will be an autograph session with the men's volleyball team following Friday's match at Gate B.
