Complete ResultsSEATTLE – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine track and field team wrapped up regular season indoor competition on Sunday in the final tune-up before the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Championships at the same site in two weeks. Sunday's UW Indoor open capped off three days of indoor competition for UH at the Dempsey Indoor Complex on the University of Washington campus.
Veracruz, Mexico senior
Tiziana Ruiz Dominguez continued an outstanding weekend in Seattle, matching her school record set on Saturday in the pole vault, again hitting 13-1.50 (4.00m) to tie for second at the UW Open.
Oakland, Calif. freshman
Briahn Brown also extended a stout weekend in the high jump, reaching a personal-best height of 5-1.75 (1.57m), finishing in a tie for eighth place.
Burlingame, Calif. junior
Sabrina Mendoza added an additional UH top 10 in the shot put, hitting 40-2.25 (12.25m) for 10th place. Mendoza also reached a personal best in the weight throw at 46-4.00 (14.12m) at 20th, joined by a personal mark by Kapolei, O'ahu junior
Mary Kamau in the event, hitting 43-1.5 (13.14m) and 24th place.
Chino Hills, Calif. senior
Robyn Brown registered an all-time UH top time, coming in at ninth with a personal-best mark of 60.06 seconds in the 400m, finishing in 16th. Langley, British Columbia senior
Jade Vaughan topped her own top 10 time in the 600m, moving up to No. 4 on the all-time UH list with a time of 1:40.02, finishing 12th overall. Sherwood Park, Alberta freshman rounded out the new UH top 10s with a personal-record mark of 2:19.05 in the 800m, taking over as the new No. 10 in the record book.
Bakersfield, Calif. freshman
Camille Campos again set a new personal record in the mile with a time of 5:14.51.
Next up for the Rainbow Wahine is a return trip to Seattle and the Dempsey Indoor, taking on the MPSF Indoor Championships, Feb. 26-27, looking to rise above last year's 14th-place team finish.
