HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team finished day two of the Weinman Foundation Invitational on Saturday at the UH Tennis Complex.
In doubles, five out of nine UH's pairs notched marks in the win column. Marina Hruba and Alzbeta Houbova paired up to win against HPU's Barbora Kijasova and Oceane Adam, 6-2. The duo of Petra Melounova and Michelle Pits knocked off Air Force's Chloe and Lily Forlini, 6-4. The 'Bows' duo of Roxanne Resma and Melounova combined to defeat HPU's Nicole Hoynaski and Adam, 6-3 while Nikola Dolakova and Hruba edged out the Falcons' TJ. Fumagali and Jocelle Rudico, 6-3. Sophia Storch and Houbova held off HPU's Monica Greene and Leticia dos Santos in a hard fought match by a break, 7-5. Klara Pribylova and Resma fell to AF's Fumagali and Rudico, 6-2.
In single plays, there were fourteen matches in total—including five-unfinished games from the first day. Melounova split the first two sets against Zhang before coming through in the last set, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3. Pits won her first set but dropped the second before coming back to defeat Lily Forlini in the final set, 6-4, 5-7, 6-3. Later, Pits also overwhelmed Rudico in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1, while Melounova earned victories against Dallas Zhang (HPU) in three sets (2-6, 6-4, 6-3) and Chloe Forlini (AF), 6-3, 6-3. Resma edged out Lily Forlini, 6-3, 6-3.
 
The three day Weinman Invitational ends on Sunday with a full slate of doubles and singles action on slate starting at 11:00 am.
