Women's Tennis Falls At RIviera/ITA All-American Championships

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif.—Members of the University of Hawai'i women's tennis team continued play in the 2016 Riviera/ Intercollegiate Tennis Association Women's All-American Championships on Sunday in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
 
Rookie Petra Melounova fell in the third round of pre-qualifying to Florida's Josie Kuhlman, who was the sixth seed, 6-3, 6-3. Melounova ended just one win away from qualifying into the main All-American draw.
 
In doubles, Marina Hruba/Petra Melounova fell in the Round of 16 in pre-qualifying  to Rachel Pierson and Rutuja Bhosale of Texas A&M, 8-4. In the Consolation Back Draw, Old Dominion's Nataliya Vlasova and Holly Huchison held off UH's Cindy Nguyen and Roxanne Resma in a hard fought match, 8-6.
 
The Rainbow Wahine will return home to host the Weinman Foundation Invitational from Nov. 4-6, 2-16.
