COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Incoming University of Hawai`i men's volleyball incoming freshman Joe Worsley was named to the 12-man roster for USA Volleyball's Boys' Youth National Team, announced Aug. 6.
Worsley, who will be playing at the libero position, joins the team out of Campolindo High School in Moraga, Calif. where the team went undefeated in the California Interscholastic Federation last season and finished third nationally in Division II.
The Boys' Youth National Team (BYNT) is the summit of the USA Volleyball Boys' HP Program for 17-18-year-old athletes. The team is set to compete at the 2015 FIVB Boys' U19 World Championship in Argentina, Aug. 14-19. The team will be competing against teams from Argentina, Belgium, France and Turkey in Pool A.
The 2016 University of Hawai`i Men's Volleyball program boasts a notably talented incoming freshman class, as two more incoming athletes, Patrick Gasman and Ben Vaught were named to the AVCA All-American High School team earlier this summer.
The Rainbow Warriors return four starters, including All-Americans
Sinisa Zarkovic,
Jennings Franciskovic and
Kolby Kanetake, as well as outside hitter
Kupono Fey, who played for the U.S. Men's Junior National team this summer with Franciskovic.
