Alkhaldi And Gonzalez Wrap Up 2015 SEA Games

Two former University of Hawai`i swimmers Jasmine Alkhaldi and Jose Gonzalez concluded the 2015 South East Asian Games in Singapore, representing the Philippines. 

Alkhaldi dominated the field after taking home five individual bronze medals resulting in five new national records and additionally anchored the Philippines' first relay medal since 2007 on a 55.23 split. Under her leadership, the team earned its most medals in the last two SEA Games with a total of seven individual and one relay. 

Alkhaldi additionally achieved Qualifying Time B Standards for the World Championships in Kazan Russia next month and for the 2016 Olympic Games in three individual events. 

Gonzalez placed within the top eight in four out of his five individual events, taking two fifth place finishes in the 200 back and 400 IM. In his first SEA Games since 2011, he achieved new personal bests in the 200 and 400 IM. Gonzalez was one of five men representing the Philippines at the games, the most selected in the last two.
