The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warrior tennis team will play its final two regular season matches on the road, going up against UC Irvine (Apr. 17) and UC Riverside (Apr. 19).The Rainbow Warriors' Chas Okamoto and Felix Albert have a team-high seven victories when partnered together between the No. 2 and No. 3 courts. UH's Nils Schuhmann six singles wins and was honored as the "Big West Athlete of the Week" for the week of March 23-29. Overall he is 6-10 with a 6-7 mark in dual matches--all on the No. 1 court. Felix Albert has the only winning record on the squad at 7-6 overall. In dual matches, Albert is 6-4 in dual matches. Hawai`i's most recent match was at Big West rival, UC Santa Barbara where the Warriors fell, 6-1 in Santa Barbara, Calif.
UC Irvine is currently 17-12 in the 2015 season. The Anteaters are coming off in a heartbreaking 4-3 loss against Binghamton. UC Irvine is led by freshman Sebastian Heim who has a team-high of 17 singles wins in the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 position respectively. Hawai`i last played the Anteaters last season in Irvine, Calif., where Hawai`i edged UC Irvine, 4-3.
UC Riverside is currently 3-14 overall this season. The Highlanders are led by junior Marcus Vizcarra with five singles and three doubles wins. UC Riverside most recently played against Big West foe, UC Santa Barbara, where the Gauchos defeated UC Riverside, 6-1. Hawai`i defeated UC Riverside last season in Riverside, Calif., 6-1.
