SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.--The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team (6-10, 0-2 Big West) fell to No. 64 Cal Poly, 7-0 at the Mustang Courts in San Luis Obispo, Calif. on Monday afternoon.
In UH's second conference match, the Rainbow Warriors struggled against the Mustangs in both doubles and singles. Cal Poly captured the doubles point with Lucas Lesour and Karl Enander defeating
Chas Okamoto and Kula Campanion, 6-1 on the No. 3 court, while on the No. 1 court, Ben Donovan and Corey Pang knocked off UH's
Carter Lam and
Marcel Chan, 6-2 for the first point of the match.
Hawai'i was unable to gain much traction in singles play as all six matches were won by the Mustangs in straight sets. Okamoto recorded the closest match of the day, but CP's Garrett Auproux held him off on the No. 2 court, 7-5, 6-4. Chan kept things close in the No. 4 match against Lesour but also fell, 6-2, 6-4.
The Rainbow Warriors will stay on the road to face No. 66 UC Santa Barbara on Wednesday, April 1 in another Big West Conference match.
