GREENSBORO, N.C. – University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine
Jasmine Alkhaldi,
Lauren Hall and
Aimee Harrison concluded day one of the 2015 Women's NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships Thursday night at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
Junior
Aimee Harrison competed among 45 divers in the 1-meter event and finished 14
th in the finals with a score of 308.45. After just making through the morning's preliminary round with a score of 298.35 for a 16
th place seed, Harrison tightened up for the main event, improving her score by over 10 points.
Additionally, junior
Lauren Hall also dove in the 1-meter preliminaries and barely missed the mark finishing 23
rd with a score of 286.50.
Swimmer Alkhaldi represented UH in the 50 free and in finished 35
th place out of 58 women in the morning's preliminaries with a time of 22.50. Stanford's Simone Manuel won the title in the event for the Cardinal (21.32).
The NCAA Championships continue tomorrow morning as Alkhaldi will swim again in her main event, the 200 free. Hall and Harrison will both be diving again as well in the 3-meter event.
