Live ScoringSEATTLE, Wash. – The University of Hawai'i women's track and field team completed the first day of the Husky Classic, Friday at Dempsey Indoor and sophomore
Rachel Toliver set a school indoor record in the 200-meter dash.
Toliver, a sophomore from Los Angeles, crossed the finish line in 25.19 seconds, breaking
Ashley Satterwhite's previous mark of 25.31 seconds, which she set in 2012.
The record is the second set by a Rainbow Wahine athlete in as many meets at Dempsey. Two weeks ago,
Zhane Santiago broke the school's 60-meter hurdles mark at the UW Invitational.
Freshman
Montana Martinez competed in the 5000-meter run and checked in at 17:36.47, the second fastest time in school history and best time for a Rainbow Wahine runner in six years. UH's distance medley relay team of
Louise Mulvey,
Robyn Brown,
Tiare' Nakashima, and
Alexa Foster posted a time of 12:35.13, which ranks 10
th in school history.
The Husky Classic concludes on Saturday. The Rainbow Wahine will then compete in the UW Indoor Open on Sunday before returning to Honolulu.
