HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team will spend four days in Maui in preparation for next week's season-opening Outrigger Resorts Volleyball Invitational. The team will hold practices, an intrasquad scrimmage, and youth clinic at Maui's Seabury Hall.
On Tuesday, the team will conduct a free youth clinic at the school's Erdman Athletic Center from 6-8 p.m. The clinic is open to boys and girls ages 16 years old and under. Space is limited to 60 participants. For more information about the clinic, contact Desi Omura at 808-298-7981.
Wednesday's intrasquad scrimmage is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., and the team will be available for autographs and photos after the match. Tickets for the scrimmage will be available at the door beginning at 4:30 p.m. Prices are $7 (adults) and $5 (children and senior citizens). Children under 7 are free.
Among the 2016 roster includes freshman
Colton Cowell, a King Kekaulike High School graduate and two-time Maui Interscholastic League Player of the Year.
The Rainbow Warriors return to Honolulu in time for the New Year and an exhibition match versus Team SportConX, Monday, Jan. 4 at the Stan Sheriff Center. Later in the week, UH will host the 22
nd Outrigger Resorts Invitational, Jan. 7-8, '10, featuring national runner-up Lewis, Harvard, and King University.
