HONOLULU--The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team will host its annual Alumnae Game this Saturday, January 31 at 2:00 p.m. The game will be followed by Hawai'i's game against CSUN at 5:00 p.m. During halftime of the UH vs. CSUN game, the jersey of former Hawai'i great Judy Mosley-McAfee will be the first one retired in the Stan Sheriff Center.
Mosley-McAfee came to UH as a freshman in the 1986-87 season as a 6-foot-1 forward after a standout career at La Puente High School in California. She went on to be the most decorated player to ever don a Rainbow Wahine jersey. The two-time All-American (1989, 1990) still holds more than two dozen UH records and was the first player ever to lead UH in scoring and rebounding for four consecutive seasons. For her career, Mosley-McAfee averaged 21.7 points and 12.6 rebounds a game and Mosley-McAfee is still UH's all-time leading scorer with 2,479 points (the only Rainbow Wahine to ever score 2,000 points) and the all-time rebounder with 1,441 boards. She is the only Hawai'i player to ever score more than 40 points in one game (46 at Pacific on Feb. 20, 1989) and she scored over 30-points 19 times in her illustrious career. Mosley-McAfee led UH to back-to-back appearances in the NCAA tournament in her junior and senior seasons, earning All-America honors both years. The Pacific Coast Athletic Association Freshman of the Year in 1987, she was she was selected as the Big West Co-Player of the Year three years later. Mosley-McAfee also was a member of the Sacramento Monarchs during the WNBA's inaugural season (1997).
