Pole Vault Summit ResultsSEATTLE – The University of Hawai'i women's track and field team successfully completed its season-opening competition at the University of Washington Preview, Saturday at Dempsey Indoor. In addition, three pole vaulters competed at the Pole Vault Summit in Reno, Nev.

Several Rainbow Wahine posted notable performances at the UW Preview including throwers
Charlinda Ioane and
Alex Porlier Langlois. In the shot put competition, Ioane, a junior from Kapolei, O'ahu, and Porlier Langlois, a senior from St-Cesaire, Quebec, placed fourth and fifth, respectively. Ioane threw an indoor personal best 46-6.75 (14.19m) while Porlier Langlois just missed out on topping her PR with a throw of 45-10 (13.97m).

Both competed in the weight throw with Porlier Longlois posting a PR 46-10.75 (14.29m) to place seventh in her first weight throw event as a Rainbow Wahine. Ioane was 11
th after a throw of 44-4 (13.51m).

Rachel Toliver, a sophomore from Los Angeles, placed fifth in her flight and sixth overall in the triple jump, with a mark of 38-7 (11.76m), just missing out on her personal best.
Zhane Santiago, a senior from Hau'ula, O'ahu, was the team's top runner, placing 11th in the 60-meter hurdles at 8.82 seconds.
In Reno, newcomer
Tiziana Ruiz Dominguez placed third with a personal best vault of 13-1.5 (4.00m) while senior
Robyn Morioka and sophomore
Amber Kozaki tied for sixth at 12-1.5 (3.70m).

The Rainbow Wahine will return to Honolulu to compete in the Sunrise Meet Opener, Saturday, Jan. 24, the first of five all-comer Sunrise Series Meets at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex.
