All-Academic Individuals  |  All-Academic Team

University of Hawai'i track and field athletes Kaleigh Morrison and Alex Porlier Langlois were selected as U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) all-academic honorees. They were among more than 725 student-athletes who were honored during the 2014 season.

In addition, the Rainbow Wahine were honored as an all-academic team by the USTFCCCA with a combined team grade point average of 3.12. A total of 208 institutions earned the distinction as a result of a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better.

Morrison concluded her career with an outstanding performance at the Big West Outdoor Championships. In four events, the Tigard, Ore., native totaled 20.5 team points and scored points in each discipline with one gold medal (heptathlon), two fifth place finishes (high jump and long jump), and a sixth (javelin). She was awarded all-academic by virtue of a top 48 regional ranking in the heptathlon.

Porlier Langlois is a two-time academic all-Big West selection. The junior from St-Cesaire, Quebec, Canada qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary Round in two events this past season and captured the silver medal in the shot put at the Big West Championship.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either of the following athletic standards: for the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org; for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
