HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i softball team (20-24, 5-10 Big West) return for their final homestand of the year this week vs. Cal State Northridge (29-22, 6-9 Big West). Friday night's game will start at 6:00 p.m. and there will be an autograph session immediately after the game. Saturday is Senior Day for four Rainbow Wahine—Jori Jasper, Sharla Kliebenstein, Kaile Nakao, and Jazmine Zamora. It will also be Military Appreciation Day and the 'Bows will be wearing special camouflage Under Armour jerseys with patches representing different military units from Hawai'i. The game will also feature the color guard from Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam; the COMPACFLT band who will be playing prior to the game as well as the National Anthem and Hawai'i Pono'i; and other special presentations will be made to members of the military.
 
The Rainbow Wahine went 1-2 this past week at UC Santa Barbara. The teams split the first two games which both went into extra innings. Hawai'i fell 9-8 in the first game that went to eight innings and then won 9-8 in the second game that lasted nine innings. The 'Bows then fell in the deciding game, 6-4 on Sunday. Six Rainbow Wahine hit over .400 against the Gauchos. Heather Morales led the charge on offense, hitting an even .500 (5-for-10) with a double and a walk. Leisha Li''ili'i continues her prowess at the plate, hitting .462 (6-for-13) with two home runs and four RBI. She launched both round-trippers in UH's win over the Gauchos—including the game-winning solo home run in the top of the ninth inning. Kayla Wartner hit .455 (5-for-11) with four runs scored a double and a home run.
 
Overall, Li'ili'i continues to lead UH with a .400 average. She has a team-high 50 hits, 14 home runs, and 27 walks. Currently in the Big West Conference, Li'ili'i is ranked No. 3 in average, No. 2 in home runs, No. 2 in walks, and No. 9 in hits. Keiki Carlos remains in second on the squad with a .313 average (45-for-144) with a team-high 33 runs scored while Jazmine Zamora is third on the team with a .309 average. She is 42-for-136 at the plate and tied for second with Li'ili'i with 23 runs scored.
 
In the pitching circle, Loie Kesterson is 10-12 overall with 18 complete games. She has a 4.25 ERA in 146.2 innings pitched. Heather Morales is 10-9 with a 5.40 ERA in 118.0 innings.
 
The Matadors are coming off three-straight losses to Long Beach State at home. Overall, Taylor Glover leads CSUN with a .387 average (65-for-168) , 37 runs scored, six triples, six home runs and 45 RBI. She and Abby Linn are the only two players to have started all 51 games. She also leads Cal State Northridge with 18 stolen bases in 22 attempts. Linn Is third on the team with a .321 average (53-for-165) while Kaitlin Toerner is hitting .336 (37-for-110).
 
CSUN has seven pitchers who have seen action. Brianna Elder has seen the bulk of the workload, throwing 171.0 innings. She is 20-10 with a 2.17 ERA and four shut outs. She has 122 strike outs to just 56 walks and has held opponents to a .233 average. Daphne Pofek is 5-5 with 93.1 innings pitched. She has a 3.45 ERA  while Jordan Sauceda is 3-4 with a 3.08 ERA in 38.2 innings.

Promotions: California Hotel & Casino is the game sponsor on Friday and will provide great prizes for the winners of "Ballpark Bingo". Also during the series, t-shirts will be thrown into the stands during the fourth inning. After Friday night's game there will be an autograph session with the team in which the first 100 fans will receive a special team photo. University of Hawaii Federal Credit Union is the game sponsor of the double header on Saturday and will distribute 800 softball team photos and honor the UH seniors with commemorative plaques during the "Senior Day" ceremony after the game. Saturday is also Military Appreciation Day in which the 'Bows will be wearing special camouflage Under Armour jerseys.
Series history: Hawai'i holds an 11-6-1 record against CSUN. Last season, UH opened their first season back in the Big West with a three-game sweep at Cal State Northridge. The one tie between the two teams is the only one in UH's history. It was a 5-5 tie in 1997 at the SDSU Spring Classic in San Diego, Calif.
