SANTA BARBARA, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i softball team (19-22, 4-8 Big West) heads to UC Santa Barbara (28-17, 8-4 Big West) for a three-game Big West Conference series. The Rainbow Wahine are looking to regain their footing in the Big West standings as they aim to snap their seven-game losing streak.
 
Although Hawai'i battled hard all series, the 'Bows were swept by Cal Poly this past week, 6-4, 7-6 (eight innings), and 4-1. The Rainbow Wahine had early leads in the first two games, but could not hold on as the Mustangs charged back for the wins. Junior first baseman Leisha Li'ili'i led UH in the series with a .571 (4-of-7) with a home run and four walks. Five Rainbow Wahine racked up three hits apiece, led by Kristina Akiona and Kayla Wartner who both went 3-for-9 with a .333 average. Wartner came through with a game-tying, 3-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning in UH's second game against CP.
 
Overall, Li'ili'i continues to lead UH overall with a .393 average (44-for-112). She currently holds the team-highs with 12 home runs, 33 RBI, 26 walks, and is tied for the lead with 44 hits with Keiki Carlos. Li'ili'i has hit safely in 16 of the last 17 games and has reached base safely in 17 straight games. She also leads UH with seven multiple-RBI games. In conference, Li'ili'i is tied for third in league-play with a .438 batting average. Carlos, UH's sophomore rightfielder, is hitting .333 overall (44-for-132) with a team-high nine doubles and 30 runs scored.
 
UH's Loie Kesterson is now 10-11 overall with a 4.07 ERA and in conference she is 2-6 with a 3.39 ERA.
She has seen the most time in the circle, with 139.1 innings under her belt with 52 walks and 54 strike outs. Freshman Heather Morales is 9-8 overall with a 5.23 ERA in 103.0 innings pitched.
 
UCSB is led by Kristen Clark who is hitting .416 and leads the team with 69 hits, 31 runs, four triples and she is 25-for-30 in stolen bases. Kathryn Pilpil is hitting .294 and is second on the team with 29 runs scored and 40 hits while MeShalon Moore is hitting .289 (37-for-128) with a team high 11 doubles. In the pitching circle, Shelby Wisdom has seen the bulk of the workload. Wisdom is 16-12 with a 4.03 ERA in 35 appearances. She has struck out 92 while walking 49. Alex Pingree is 5-1 with a 5.25 ERA and Andriana Collins is 7-4 with a 6.61 ERA.

Series Record: Hawai'i holds a 43-17 record against UCSB. Last year, UH won the series in Honolulu, 2-1 with the Gauchos taking the first game, 4-1 in nine innings before the 'Bows came back to out-slug UCSB, 11-9 and then 8-0 in five innings on Senior Day.
