LOS ANGELES – Stephen Ventimilia had a career-high four hits and Austin Wobrock added two hits and two runs, but it wasn't enough as the University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warrior baseball team lost 10-4 to USC on Tuesday at Dedeaux Field.

Kaeo Aliviado extended his on-base streak to 21 games with two hits and two RBI. Marc Flores had a pair of hits of his own and Ventilimia added two runs to his career-high hit mark.

The 'Bows staffed the game with starter Quintin Torres-Costa (2-2) suffering the loss. He worked the first two innings allowing one unearned run on two hits. Kyle Twomey (2-2) earned the win for USC in one and one-third innings of work.

Jake Hernandez led the Trojans with three hits, one run, and one RBI and Kevin Swick batted 2-4 with three runs and one RBI.

After picking up a run in the first inning, the Trojans (21-17) extended their lead with three runs in the third inning. Timmy Robinson's double scored a run off reliever Eric Gleese then scored on a sacrifice fly by Blake Lacey (2 H, 1 R, 1 RBI).

The 'Bows (15-22) threatened on numerous occasions before finally getting on the board with two runs in the fifth inning. Aliviado drove home Wobrock with a base hit then Ventimilia scored on a throwing error from Trojan catcher Jeremy Martinez (1 H, 1 R, 1 RBI).

The Trojans extended the lead to 6-2 with a pair of runs in the sixth inning, but the 'Bows plated two of their own in the seventh and had a chance for much more. Adam Hurley came to the plate with two outs and Flores and Aliviado in scoring position, but flew out to left field to end the threat.

USC put the game away with four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning.

The 'Bows resume Big West Conference play this Friday with a three-game series at Cal State Fullerton. All three games will be streamed live on ESPN3 with the Saturday and Sunday contests broadcast on ESPNU.
