NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (10-8, 5-2 Big West) ended their regular season with a resounding 4-0 sweep of Cal State Northridge (12-9, 3-5 Big West) at the Matador Tennis Complex on Sunday morning.

With the win, Hawai'i earns the third seed in this week's Big West Tournament (April 24-27) at Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, Calif. CSUN secured the sixth seed in the tourney. The 'Bows will battle the Matadors in the quarterfinals on April 25 at 8:00 a.m.

Cal State Northridge's Vivian Lin and Jessica Warren started the match with a win over Cindy Nguyen and Rebecca Faltusz, 8-3 on the No. 2 court. But UH's No. 3 duo of Sarah Gealer and Martina Kostalova held off Criss Rodriguez and Lorraine Cheung, 8-6 to even the doubles score. Then the No. 1 team of Xenia Suworowa and Paulina Petriskova hung on to defeat Kristen Poei and Mickey HSU, 8-6 to capture the all-important doubles point. With the win, Suworowa and Petriskova snapped Poei and Hsu's 10-match win streak.

The 'Bows would go on to win the first three singles matches in straight sets to complete the sweep over the Matadors. Kostalova and Nguyen both won their matches to extend their singles win streaks to nine straight. No. 3 Kostalova defeated Rodriguez, 6-4, 6-2 while No. 1 Nguyen knocked off Lin, 6-3, 6-4. Petriskova then sealed the win for UH with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Poei on the No. 4 court.

*Hawai'i will not be completing the match vs UC Davis that was started last Saturday, April 5 but was cut short due to rainy weather.
