Kaeo Aliviado is hitting a team-high .300
HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warrior baseball team will hit the road for the first time this season, playing a four-game set against 10th-ranked Texas at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. The 'Bows and Longhorns will play Friday, Mar. 7 at 6:00 p.m. CT (2:00 p.m. HT), a doubleheader on Saturday, Mar. 8 at 1:00 p.m. CT (9:00 a.m. HT), and Sunday, Mar. 9 at 1:00 p.m. CT (9:00 a.m. HT).

Hawai'i (6-6) has won six of its last eight games which includes a sweep of Albany and a split against Pepperdine last week. The Rainbow Warrior pitching staff is led by Matt Cooper (2-0) who was named Big West Pitcher of the Week on Monday after a stellar performance in the Pepperdine series opener. He tossed a complete-game three-hit shutout while equaling a career-high 10 strikeouts and issuing no bases on balls.

Kaeo Aliviado continues to lead the 'Bows at the plate with a team-best .300 batting average. He has a hit in all but two games with his best performance coming in a three-hit, three RBI showing in the series finale against Albany. First baseman Marc Flores has been on a tear since UH's season-opening series against Oregon. Over his last eight games, he has seven runs, six RBI, two doubles, a triple, and is batting .429 (12-28).

The last meeting between the two teams was in 2011 when the Longhorns won two of three games at Les Murakami Stadium.
