Men's Tennis Embarks On Four-Match Road Swing

Senior Jonathan Brooklyn has a team-high five singles wins
HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team hits the mainland this week for its longest road trip of the season. The 'Bows open at Oregon (Wednesday, Mar. 26) then travel to Portland for matches against the host Pilots on Thursday, Mar. 27 as well as Idaho on Sunday, Mar. 30. They will finish up their trip at Big West opponent UC Davis (Tuesday, Apr. 1).

The Rainbows Warriors are coming off their final home stand that closed with back-to-back wins against San Francisco and Cal Poly. The Cal Poly match was the final home contest for UH seniors Jonathan Brooklyn, Danilo Casanova, Chris Meyer, and David Schuster.

No. 24 Oregon (13-1, 1-0 Pac 12) is currently on a 10-match win streak after beating Drexel. No. 110 Robin Cambier leads the team in singles with an 18-2 record and, with Kevin Farin, are the team's top doubles due with a 17-2 record.

Portland (6-4, 1-0 WCC) is fresh off a conference win against Gonzaga. Alex Ferero has a team best 13-3 record and, with partner Rata Gill, leads the team with 11 doubles wins.

Former Western Athletic Conference foe Idaho (6-9, 1-1 WAC) topped Sacramento State last Tuesday, whom the 'Bows also beat earlier this season. Jose Bendeck leads the team with 24 wins in both singles and doubles.

UC Davis (10-6, 1-0 Big West) won its last five matches, blanking three of the opponents. James Wade leads the Aggies in singles with a 23-6 record, and Alec Adamson and Adam Levie have a team-best 21-8 doubles record.
