Recapping Last Week's UCSB Series: The Rainbow Warriors began the series with a four-set loss in which UH squandered early opportunities in Sets 3 and 4 after the teams split the first two frames.
Brook Sedore finished with a match-high 19 kills and hit .333 in a losing effort. UH hit .192 for the match but were ultimately undone at the service line, where they committed 13 errors with no aces while allowing seven UCSB aces. In the rematch, the Warriors got off to a good start, winning Set 1 before the Gauchos won the next two. UH extended the match to a fifth set but fell behind early before fending off two match points. Setter
Joby Ramos' overpass kill attempt was blocked to end the match. Sedore led three players in double figures with 15 kills while UH's middle attack of
Taylor Averill and
Davis Holt combined for 23 kills on .487 hitting and 15 blocks.
