Game NotesHONOLULU - The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team will play its final game heading into the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic, facing Chaminade on Friday, Dec. 19 (7:00 p.m.) at the Neal Blaisdell Center. The game will be part of a doubleheader with Hawai'i Pacific and Montana State-Billings playing at 4:30 p.m.
The 'Bows (7-3) have had a strong start to the season but will be looking to atone for a loss to BYU in Salt Lake City the last time they took the court. UH is among the Big West's top scoring teams averaging 72.9 points per game and is the league leader in steals per game (9.0) and offensive rebounds per game (12.7).
Â
Aaron Valdes leads the 'Bows in scoring averaging 16.2 ppg.
Roderick Bobbitt leads the Big West in both assists per game (5.70) and steals per game (2.80) and is just one of three players in the nation this season with a triple-double (UH-Hilo). His 10 steals against the Vulcans is an NCAA high this season.
Â
This will be the seventh all-time meeting between the teams with Hawai'i leading the series 5-1. The game also marks the third straight year the teams will meet, the previous two on the neighbor islands. Last season, UH earned a 94-84 win over Chaminade on Kauai.
